How Do I Upgrade From The Notion Templates To The Notion Template Packs?

Learn how to seamlessly upgrade from individual Notion Templates to the feature-packed Notion Template Packs.

Notion Templates

What do I do if I started with the individual templates and wish to get the whole pack?

If you started with the Notion Templates and now feel that now want the full Notion Template Pack, that's great news! The transition is seamless, and you’ll immediately gain the benefits of the pack—built-in integrations between templates, as well as access to exclusive templates and dashboards.

Upgrade Steps

How do I make my upgrade?

  1. Please purchase the relevant pack, if you haven’t done so already.
  1. Once you get the new pack, duplicate it as usual.
  1. Choose one of the following options:
    1. Migrate Your Old Data: If you’ve been using the template for a while and want to move existing data to the new pack.
    2. Start Fresh: If you don’t have much data or want a clean start, you can dive right into using your new pack!

Migrating Data

How do I make sure the data migration process is smooth?

After duplicating the new pack to your Notion workspace, you’ll notice:

  • Your previous individual template(s) that are not connected to the pack
  • A copy of the same template(s) that are now integrated into the pack

Your goal is to ensure you start using the new, integrated templates from now on.

To avoid mistakes during migration, I recommend following these steps:

  1. Rename the old individual template(s) by adding (OLD) to the page title to differentiate it from the new one.
  1. Open the new and old databases and compare the properties.
    1. /icons/info-alternate_gray.svg

This step is optional if you’re using the same template version and haven’t made any property changes. They will be the same.

  1. Ensure that the properties in the old database match those in the new template to allow smooth data migration. Notion data can easily transfer between databases as long as the property name and types are the same.
  1. Highlight the records in the old database and click Move To to transfer your data into the new, integrated template.

Advanced Configuration

If you made a lot of adjustments to your template, and you want to keep them, you can also migrate your template version to the pack and make the connections to the rest of the pack manually.
