Organizing tools like Notion templates can become complicated, especially when you’re juggling multiple workflows and streams of information in your life. With so many moving parts, it can be overwhelming to manage everything within a single system. That’s where components come in.
Most of the time, we need to solve one problem at a time. To do that effectively, it’s important to break down the challenge into its fundamental parts—first principles—so we can focus on what really matters and take actionable steps.
Components help you do exactly that. They allow us to group similar databases together into manageable chunks. This modular approach simplifies the larger system, breaking it down into smaller, more focused parts that you can tackle individually. By organizing everything into components, you’re able to manage your workflow more effectively and avoid being overwhelmed by the complexity of the full system.
The Item Shop Notion Template connects a fleshed out Item Shop database to the Gamified Life Tracker Notion Template, making it so that you don’t have to feel guilty for your ‘unproductive moments’, but instead, reward yourself for a job well done..

Item Shop Database
How do we keep track of all the rewards we can buy?
The Item Shop Database is a great place for you to put all of the leisure activities that you do so you can start tracking the “cost” of the activity, and manage it with a finite resource - your gold.
How It Works
At A Glance
displays how much gold this item costs.
Cost
is the absolute numerical value this item costs.
- Click
Purchase Item
to purchase this item! This button will help you add a page to the activity log and attribute the gold spend to your character. You can purchase an item multiple times.

Views
- All: Shows all of your items
- The gallery view is generally more aesthetic.
- The list view is easier to use on a mobile device.
FAQs
- How come I can spend gold that I don’t have?
This is a limitation of Notion unfortunately, there are no “constraints” that we can program in to stop a purchase. Be honest with yourself and don’t go into debt! (if someone wants to co-create a debt feature, let’s do it!)
